Top issues during term (6)(Governance)
election board structure referendum
It might cost a bit more to run a larger board, but it's mostly about changing who's in charge rather than breaking the bank.
elected official compensation
Your local tax dollars will now cover higher salaries for the city controller and council members.
official misconduct
While there's no direct hit to your wallet yet, scandals like this often end up costing taxpayers big bucks in legal fees and potential lawsuits.
mayoral dispute
Taxpayer money is basically being burned on political slapfights instead of fixing actual city problems.
official language policy
There's little to no direct cost, though updating city signs and paperwork down the road could take a tiny slice of the municipal budget.
mayoral leadership
National recognition could help the city attract new investments, grants, and economic opportunities down the road.
